This project has covered 364 homes. As of today, 156 homes have signed up for a faster broadband service. Less than 50% take up thus far, so ways to go, guys!
Not every household has yet achieved the speeds that we calculated at the beginning of the project, and Openreach are 'snagging' wherever a problem area is identified and reported via the CP's. Equally, many homes are now enjoying speeds greater than anticipated - and its amazing how quickly one starts taking our new speeds and accessibility for granted! Here is one happy family:
It is all too easy to get blasé about things, but I’ve not for a moment since switchover got over the amazing broadband performance you brought to us. I may be extra fortunate to be so close to the cabinet, with such high and constant speeds of 17/75mbits, but it’s not just that. It’s the total consistency of service - with none of the several times a session of exasperating dropouts I was used to, waiting, waiting, waiting - always bl---dy well waiting. What you guys did is amazing, and a massive bonus for us and for the community, and I fully appreciate that you all put an immense amount of knowledge, work and determination into the project, so here is my vote of appreciation from both of us to all of you - and to include the others who assisted you - in achieving such a remarkable result.
With thanks again - and with very best wishes

A big 'thank you' to those who applied for better broadband vouchers. Taking that extra fund-raising into account, Openreach have confirmed that there are no further payments due to be made by HCP. We will therefore be able to make a significant refund to each of you who pledged. Can't tell you the exact %'ge of pledge yet as our talks with Openreach are continuing; but we are preparing to make the refunds and hope to complete the process before Xmas. More details will be sent to all those who pledged just as soon as possible.
